 Baseball Tournament Rules & Regulations

  1. Tournaments are administered in the USSSA format.  These events are sanctioned qualifiers for Kansas/Missouri state berths.
  2. All rosters must be signed and given to the tournament director before your first game.
  3. Please have your USSSA card or sanction number in your possession.
  4. Upon arrival please check in immediately with the tournament director.
  5. Start time is forfeit time unless a delay is created by the ORC.
  6. A team must start and finish with a minimum of eight players.  Exception: In case of an ejection, teams must finish with 9 elgible players.
  7. Championship games are not subject to time/innings limit unless agreed upon by both teams prior to the start of the game.  Higher seeded team is home team in seeded bracket play.  Home team is decided by a pre-game coin toss in pool play as well as the Championship game.
  8. Age eligibility is determined by April 30, 2010.
  9. The Ottawa Recreation Commission reserves the right to combine grades and or age groups, waive minimums or increase maximums in order to maximize each team's participation.
  10. One pitch thrown constitutes an innning pitched.  Pitching Limitation Violations result in a forfeit.  No new inning will begin with less than 5 minutes remaining in the time limit, unless the score is tied.  See USSSA rules for pitching limitation rules.  We adhere to said rules.
  11. Additional Hitter (AH) may be used the entire tournament.  The batting order must remain constant; however, any 9 of the 10 players may take a defensive position throughout the game.  If an AH is used, teams must finish with 10 players or the game is forfeited. (Exception: Injured Player)  It is not mandatory that a team use an AH, but failure to declare such a hitter prior to the game precludes use of an AH in that game.
  12. Bulldogging will result in immediate ejection in all divisions.
  13. 13U Division and above may use metal spikes.  Metal spikes are prohibitied for pitchers using the portable mounds. Rubber soled shoes (cleats, sneakers) will be used on portable mounds.
  14. Teams may use a courtesy runner for the pitcher and catcher.
  15. Tiebreaker for seeding = 1. Head to Head   2. Runs against   3.  Runs scored
