Ottawa Recreation Commission
WHAT IS THE ORC?
Created by Kansas State Statute, the recreation commission is funded by the local school district. The Ottawa Recreation Commission is responsible for providing recreational programming for this community. The ORC partners with the city of Ottawa and USD 290 to administer programs using properties they own.
The Commission is governed by a five member policy setting board. The ORC board is comprised of two appointees from the City, two from USD #290 and one at-large position. The commissioners are appointed from this community and donate their services to the community.
The Ottawa Recreation Commission holds their regular meetings at the City Hall (101 S. Hickory), on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm in the City Commission Meeting Room. Residents are encouraged to attend and welcome to make suggestions. To be placed on the Agenda, please call (785) 242-1939 by the Friday before the next scheduled meeting.
